How to Make Real Estate Videos

#5 Most Common Mistakes in Real Estate Videos

In the last year I've taught over 200 students how to film real estate videos through my online course. I've seen countless students make the same mistakes when it comes to filming real estate videos.
  1. Videos are WAY TO LONG: don’t waste precious viewers time making videos extremely artsy and cinematic. This doesn’t mean that your videos should be bland. Be efficient with your edits and when you think “you’re done” cut at least 10% more off your videos.
  2. Use Short Clips: A real estate video is meant to showcase the property not be allow a viewer to memorize each room. Each shot should be 5s max (a few exceptions). Leave your viewers wanting more not leaving the video early because they’ve seen enough.
  3. Make sure your demo fits who you’re targeting: don’t show a video of a cheap apartment if you want to film high end mansions. Don’t have a video of the mansion you want to shoot? I offer tons of tactics in my Real Estate Video Course to get you the demo property you want to film.
  4. Over shooting: your time is valuable. Spend less time at each property by knowing what you need and not shooting endless amounts of “just in case” footage. Write a shot list, get a handful of extra shot options but don’t over do it. More tips on how to be strategic in my RE Course below.
  5. “How do I get more client?” – It’s a numbers game! Realators, house listings, development companies, etc. Build a template to reach out to potential customers and start your journey. Keep refining until conversions start happening. Getting lot’s of “No’s?” Odds are your demo video isn’t good enough. Learn how to make an amazing sample real estate video that no agent can say “No” when they see it in my Real Estate Video Course.
